The YMCA of Metropolitan Washington has been serving the Southeast community for over 20 years. In 2002 YMCA Capital View opened its doors in the Parkland area of Southeast Washington to be a part of the revitalization in this area. We are excited about being able to provide programs and services that will help build strong kids, strong families, and a strong community!

The YMCA Capital View is a character development organization. We incorporate caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility into all of our programming.

The mission of the YMCA is to foster the spiritual, mental, and physical development of individuals, families, and communities according to the ideals of inclusiveness, equality, and mutual respect for all.

The YMCA provides "wrap around" services. In other words, there is something for every age group (children to seniors) and all family members. When you participate in a YMCA program you can develop in spirit, mind, and body. Our programs build self-esteem, develop character, and provide lifelong assets.

If you are a parent enrolling your child in a program, you can be assured that the YMCA fosters a safe and nurturing environment for all of our children.

YMCA Capital View takes pride in the fact that no one is turned away because of inability to pay. Financial Assistance is available to all qualified applicants through our Building Bridges program based on available funds.
